Christmas?\u00a0 Who has time for Christmas!\u00a0 Here is what I’ve been doing…<\/p>\n

Progress report!\u00a0 We are up to 147 sales of Nancy’s colorplay bag,<\/a> and I am hoping to reach 150 this week.\u00a0 I am going to match donations, so every sale ($2) will result in $4 donation to Doctors without Borders.\u00a0 Keep spreading the word, and think about giving the pattern to a knitter for a bit of Christmas joy.<\/p>\n

It was weaving weekend again, with Tracy Irwin, Lisa Kobeck, Jen Clodius and Tina Newton.\u00a0 I worked on warping my Baby Wolf with 8\/2 cotton, and wondered seriously if I had bitten off more than I could chew.\u00a0 Boy, was this tough.\u00a0 But they got me through it, and I am ready to thread and sley this baby.<\/p>\n

I found out, while threading, that I needed to redistribute heddles. Ugh. I whittled bamboo skewers to hold them in place for the transfer. The pieces of tape keep them from sliding off, and I write the number of heddles on the tape.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Warp wound on the back beam, ready to thread the heddles. It took ALL DAY to get to this point. That is 480 pieces of sticky string, wrangled into submission! Couldn’t have done it without Tracy and Lisa’s encouragement and help.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Tina brought her new yarn, Rustica, and that was an amazing treat.\u00a0 Lisa started weaving it up, and this is an amazing blend of Imperial Yarn and Tina’s color creativity.<\/p>\n

Plain weave on Lisa Kobeck’s Rigid Heddle loom, in Blue Moon Fiber arts new yarn, Rustica. I am campaigning for a kit to be organized to weave this, because it is just gorgeous.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Sunday afternoon found me at The Naked Sheep Knit Shop, which is an absolutely charming LYS in Portland.\u00a0 I taught a basic Annetarsia class, but it felt like a party with family.\u00a0 The knitters could not have been nicer or more fun.\u00a0 I can’t wait to go back next month, to teach another class.<\/p>\n

Back on the home front we are preparing for the Astoria sock KAL (Knit-a-long) to be done with A Hundred Raven yarns.\u00a0 This will start on Jan. 1, with a kit of colors that you all helped pick, and discounted pricing.\u00a0 I am very excited about this opportunity for knitters to have a mini-skein kit just for these socks.\u00a0 I’m getting pattern materials ready, customized for the yarn.<\/p>\n

Right off the needles, not blocked but ready to wear. I changed the color sequence for the second sock, so they look different but coordinate. I love them so much! Kate and I plan to launch the KAL in November, so watch for that!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I am also knitting the Raglan tunic when I am not at home (I love to weave but it is not very portable).\u00a0 Making good progress and loving the colors.\u00a0 This is nice easy knitting which quite relaxing.<\/p>\n
