{"id":2564,"date":"2015-05-23T16:05:25","date_gmt":"2015-05-23T16:05:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/annetarsia.com\/?p=2564"},"modified":"2015-05-23T16:05:25","modified_gmt":"2015-05-23T16:05:25","slug":"knitting-boutique-preparation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/2015\/05\/knitting-boutique-preparation\/","title":{"rendered":"Knitting Boutique preparation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I will be visiting <a href=\"http:\/\/knittingboutique.com\/\">The Knitting Boutique<\/a> this summer.\u00a0 The store entered my radar when I wandered into their amazing booth at an East Coast fiber event a couple of years ago.\u00a0 They had unique products, and even for fiber folk, were unusually friendly and fun to be around.\u00a0 That is saying something!\u00a0 They invited me to teach in their store sometime, and now we have a date.\u00a0 I will be participating in their <a href=\"http:\/\/knittingboutique.com\/knitting-classes\/famous-knitter-series.html\">&#8220;Famous Knitters&#8221; series,<\/a> teaching on Aug. 8 and 9th, 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Knitting Boutique created the <a href=\"http:\/\/knittingboutique.com\/boutique-online\/boutique-yarn.html\">Boutique Yarn<\/a> line of beautiful fibers and colors created in the US.\u00a0 They partner with Sweitzer Mill farms in Pennsylvania, and the yarns are named for rivers in Maryland.\u00a0 As I named all of the projects in &#8220;Annetarsia Knits&#8221; for places that I love in my home state of Oregon, I completely relate to this, and love that they are honoring their state in this way.<\/p>\n<p>The classes are not scheduled until August, which means that I have time to knit class samples from their yarn!\u00a0 The <a href=\"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/classes\/?preview=true&amp;preview_id=61&amp;preview_nonce=369608a166\">classes I am teaching<\/a> are &#8220;Annetarsia: Be the Boss of your Intarsia&#8221;, and &#8220;Argyle Socks&#8221;.\u00a0 I knit the 3 bags for the &#8220;Be the Boss&#8221; class with the Anacostia Worsted.\u00a0 I have to tell you that the experience of knitting with this yarn was fantastic.\u00a0 It is an exceptionally bouncy, soft worsted weight yarn.\u00a0 I absolutely fell in love with it.\u00a0 The argyle socks are knit with the Anacostia fingering weight, which is also lovely.\u00a0 They send me three colors, and I couldn&#8217;t decide which colorway to use, so I made 3 socks, all with different main colors!\u00a0 The socks are knit directly from the class pattern, and the white one is not finished (no duplicate stitch, no seaming) so you can see what it looks like, fresh off the needles.<\/p>\n<p>I re-knit class samples quite often, as they get lost and wear out.\u00a0 It keeps the classes fresh for me.\u00a0 Knitting them in this yarn was a great experience!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2561\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2561\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/FullSizeRender14.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2561\" src=\"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/FullSizeRender14-300x188.jpg\" alt=\"&quot;Be the Boss of your Intarsia&quot; samples.
