It has 8 shafts, but I am only using 4.\u00a0 I bought worsted weight Sugar and Cream cotton in a bunch of colors, and warped from back to front, as you are supposed to with a separator beam.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t like it much, there has to be a better way to do this.\u00a0 I put on a Rosepath threading, and used a few treadling tie-ups and drafts to make &#8220;pictures&#8221;.\u00a0 It was fun, and mildly successful.\u00a0 We will see after washing &#8211; when the fibers settle into place.<\/p>\n<p>I put on a second warp, going from front to back, this time.\u00a0 It came out beautifully!\u00a0 Then I sat down to weave and couldn&#8217;t get a proper shed.\u00a0 I checked the tie-ups.\u00a0 I checked the heddles.\u00a0 All OK.\u00a0 So I went to my oracle, Deborah Chandler&#8217;s &#8220;Learning to Weave&#8221;.\u00a0 Under &#8220;can&#8217;t get a shed&#8221; &#8211; she says (honest to God) &#8220;You forgot to put up the back beam before winding the warp&#8221;.\u00a0 I went to the loom to look, and of course that was it.\u00a0 Thank you, Deborah!\u00a0 I had to unwind, put the beam back, and wind it again, so it isn&#8217;t as pretty as the first try.\u00a0 But it works.<\/p>\n<p>The weft is a Muppet yarn that Laura Farson gave me when I started to weave.\u00a0 I am making mats for the loom bench and my piano bench.\u00a0 Jasmine thinks I am making cat beds, and that works for me, too.\u00a0 Anything to get her off the actual loom!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2865\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2865\" style=\"width: 225px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_3174-e1445185122226.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2865\" src=\"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_3174-e1445185122226-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"Muppet yarn for weft, Sugar and cream cotton warp\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2865\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Muppet yarn for weft, Sugar and cream cotton warp<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2858\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2858\" style=\"width: 225px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_3165-e1445185456479.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2858\" src=\"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_3165-e1445185456479-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"I turn my back, and Jasmine got up on the front beam!
