I&#8217;ll take it!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I love teaching, I really do: Meeting new people, sharing what I love, taking every teaching opportunity as a chance to improve the class experience for knitters.\u00a0 I am very, very lucky to have the chance to participate in events as a teacher, and I appreciate it very much.\u00a0 BUT, teaching every session means that there is no time to take a class, yourself!\u00a0 My friend <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ravelry.com\/designers\/daniel-yuhas\">Daniel Yuhas<\/a> is a talented knitter, designer and teacher, who consciously takes the time to go to events as a student.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ravelry.com\/designers\/daniel-yuhas\">Author of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Knitting from t<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">he Center Out,<\/span> <\/a>he is, of course a big fan of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.norahgaughan.com\/\">Norah Gaughan, <\/a>who does amazing designs with shaping in unusual directions. She is teaching Geometric Knitting Design at the Columbia Gorge Fiber Festival next weekend, and he signed up for the class.\u00a0 Then a family trip came up for that weekend, and he offered me his spot.<\/p>\n<p>Now, this type of knitting is not in my design wheelhouse. I knit patterns other people design, but Annetarsia designs are very simple shapes, letting the colorwork be the star.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve never thought about designing Annetarsia into geometric shapes, but it might be fun and fabulous.\u00a0 As soon as I said I wanted to take the class, I got really excited and wanted to start knitting right away.\u00a0 In my stash, I found enough Plymouth Sahara to make <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ravelry.com\/patterns\/library\/atomium\">Atomium,<\/a> which should be great in this 40%linen\/40%bamboo\/20%silk blend.\u00a0 The first step in the pattern is to knit several large triangles, which is pretty convenient for swatching!\u00a0 My first triangle was spot-on for both row and stitch gauge.\u00a0 SCORE.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2905\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2905\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/FullSizeRender52.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2905\" src=\"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/FullSizeRender52-300x173.jpg\" alt=\"On gauge - piece measures 12&quot;
