{"id":3148,"date":"2016-05-14T21:44:43","date_gmt":"2016-05-14T21:44:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/annetarsia.com\/?p=3148"},"modified":"2016-05-14T21:44:43","modified_gmt":"2016-05-14T21:44:43","slug":"personal-knitting-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/2016\/05\/personal-knitting-time\/","title":{"rendered":"Personal Knitting time!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have been working intensely on samples for a terrific new Craftsy class I just completed filming.\u00a0 It&#8217;s hard for me not to talk about it, but we are scheduled to launch June 6, which is right around the corner, which makes waiting easier.\u00a0 Even while working on the class, I have knit on my personal knitting project at least a little bit, every day.\u00a0\u00a0 Personal knitting is important to me, because although I love designing and teaching, at my core, I love knitting, and wearing my hand-knits.\u00a0 Knitting I do for work just doesn&#8217;t count, and I need to keep a balance between work and personal knitting.<\/p>\n<p>On my trip to Denver to film, I finished the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ravelry.com\/patterns\/library\/forget-me-not-18\">&#8220;Forget-me-not&#8221;<\/a> shawl, by Adrienne Ku.\u00a0 I bought the yarn at Yarnover, and it was dyed in the Minnesota Knitters Guild colors for their 30th anniversary.\u00a0 This is a fun shawl to knit, and I plan to make it again &#8211; the pattern is easy to memorize and knit, and I think it would look great in all sorts of colorways.\u00a0 I knit until I ran out of yarn, but for the next one I will plan for more yardage, as it is more a neck kerchief in this size.\u00a0 Considering the colors, though, this smaller size is just right, and I am going to pair it with a t-shirt and jeans and wear it all summer.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3146\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3146\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3146\" src=\"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/FullSizeRender31-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Forget Me Not shawl, by Adrienne Ku. Yarn is the Yarnover 30 colorway, by Grinning Gargoyle<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Next up will be the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ravelry.com\/patterns\/library\/agate-ripples\">Agate Ripples<\/a> pattern, by Laura Bryant, in Knitters magazine K120, Fall 2015.\u00a0 I saw the sweater at Stitches West, and almost bought a kit, because the Prism yarn she used is exquisite.\u00a0 I hesitated, though, because the yarn reminded me of Koigu PPM, of which I have a sizeable stash.\u00a0 I bought the yarn years ago, and have been &#8220;saving&#8221; it and feeling slightly guilty about having it sit in stash.\u00a0 Today I pulled it out and picked which colors to put together for the sweater.
