{"id":738,"date":"2013-11-16T22:23:00","date_gmt":"2013-11-16T22:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/annetarsia.com\/?p=738"},"modified":"2013-11-16T22:23:00","modified_gmt":"2013-11-16T22:23:00","slug":"stitches-east","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/2013\/11\/stitches-east\/","title":{"rendered":"Stitches East"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It has been a whirlwind few weeks, and since I got back from Stitches I have been playing catch-up.\u00a0 Looking back through the photos of the trip reminds me of how much fun it was.<\/p>\n<p>As usual, the students were exceptional in all of my classes.\u00a0 I keep adding content, but they continue to amaze me with how fast they catch on to everything. I was happy to see Margaret Whitehead in class. She took a class from me at Sock Summit, and it was wonderful to see her again.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_729\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-729\" style=\"width: 2448px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Margaret-R.-Whitehead-e1384638367517.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-729\" alt=\"Super knitter Margaret is the FIRST student in history to complete her project Argyle sock in class. I think the foot got shortened a bit, ahem, but that is just boring plain knitting, so who could blame her?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Another person I was excited to see was Bobbie Hodges.\u00a0 Bobbie had an idea for a &#8220;bat shawl&#8221;, and we designed one together for Annetarsia Knits.\u00a0 The pattern will be in the book with a new name,\u00a0 but Bobbie and I called it Battina during development.\u00a0 Nina Raqueno, of the Rochester Knitting Guild, took our photo, both wearing our Battinas.\u00a0\u00a0 Bobbie is an amazing person, a wonderful knitter, with a generous spirit and sharp mind.\u00a0 It is an honor to showcase her work in Annetarsia Knits.\u00a0 Also, a scarf that she knit for the book will be featured in our Knitty ad for the Winter issue, so watch for that.\u00a0 Writing this book has been a long and hard journey, and Bobbie is one of the reasons I knew I couldn&#8217;t quit.\u00a0\u00a0 Thanks, Bobbie, for everything.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/photo51-copy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-736\" alt=\"Battina shawls\" src=\"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/photo51-copy.jpg\" width=\"960\" height=\"831\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The market was great, as usual.\u00a0 I did some shopping for Christmas presents, so you won&#8217;t see purchases this time.\u00a0 But I want to showcase <a href=\"http:\/\/www.northlightfibers.com\/\">North Light Fibers<\/a>, whose yarn and project kits I fell in love with.\u00a0 When I start weaving again, NLF scarf kits will be on this girl&#8217;s wish list.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_732\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-732\" style=\"width: 2448px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/North-Light-Fibers-e1384638165883.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-732\" alt=\"Many tempting items, here.
