{"id":940,"date":"2014-02-16T18:46:31","date_gmt":"2014-02-16T18:46:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/annetarsia.com\/?p=940"},"modified":"2014-04-29T15:49:45","modified_gmt":"2014-04-29T15:49:45","slug":"madrona","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/2014\/02\/madrona\/","title":{"rendered":"Madrona!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Annetarsia Knits would not exist without Madrona Fiber Arts. \u00a0I was inspired to develop the ITR technique by Madrona students. \u00a0I taught ITR for the first time, at Madrona, and students helped to refine the technique (thank you,especially,Valerie McPherson!).Cat Bordhi saw me doing ITR,said I had to write a book, and invited me to join the Visionaries, at Madrona. \u00a0For the past few years,Suzanne Pederson has allowed me to continue teaching at a reduced volume while I was working on the book.<\/p>\n<p>This year, Suzanne and Lisa Kobeck gave me space in the Rotunda for Annetarsia demonstrations, as we prepare for the book launch. \u00a0Good friends Elaine, Jill, and Stephanie came up from Portland to help answer questions. \u00a0We had a terrific response to the technique, and a wonderful experience visiting with knitters.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_938\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-938\" style=\"width: 2448px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/photo-3-4-e1392573960379.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-938\" alt=\"Serious love for Oaks Park sock\" src=\"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/photo-3-4-e1392573960379.jpg\" width=\"2448\" height=\"3264\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-938\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Serious love for Oaks Park sock<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I was so busy visiting and watching knitters do intarsia and saying, &#8220;Is that it? \u00a0That&#8217;s what I&#8217;ve been afraid of?&#8221; that I didn&#8217;t take many photos. \u00a0But I did get a quick photo of part of our set-up.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_939\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-939\" style=\"width: 720px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/image-e1392575757550.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-939\" alt=\"Setting up the booth in Rotunda at Madrona\" src=\"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/image-e1392575757550.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"960\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-939\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Setting up the booth in Rotunda at Madrona<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Also, there was a special treat when Cheryl Huffman visited the booth. Cheryl owned Molehill Farm, where Elaine and Jill were students of mine. Cheryl closed the store when she retired and moved to Florida, so it was wonderful to have a little &#8220;Molehill Reunion&#8221;.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/photo-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-937\" alt=\"photo 1\" src=\"https:\/\/bartonriveryarn.com\/annetarsia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/photo-1.jpg\" width=\"3264\" height=\"2448\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was a terrific few days, and I am inspired by everyone&#8217;s enthusiasm!
