As knitters, we sometimes get accused of living in our own little world. Sometimes this is phrased indelicately, as in, “What planet are you people from?” because not everyone understands the value of a Sock Summit flash mob. Sometimes it’s because we skimp on food to buy luxury yarn. And sometimes it’s because it can be 90 degrees in September, and we’re thinking — worrying — about the holidays, which are approaching too stinkin’ fast.
