It’s that time! Stories In Stitches 4 is almost here.

I’m SO excited about the Box Sets of Stories In Stitches: Around the World books 1-4. I think of each volume as part of a bigger book. In the old days, when novels were serialized in the newspaper and books were published in sections, this was called a “fascicle.”

fas·ci·cle noun \ˈfa-si-kəl\
1: a small or slender bundle (as of pine needles or nerve fibers)
2: one of the divisions of a book published in parts

Now with volume 4, we’re completing the first set.
1. Counterpanes
2. Samplers
3. World Wars 1&2
4: Knitting the Spirit

Every book we put out is my favorite, and I think they keep getting better and better. I think in the beginning people were buying them mostly for the patterns, but slowly you are all discovering the power of the stories as well. For Ava and me, that’s what it’s all about. There is so much beauty and meaning in the stories about our knitting! And that is, to me, what makes it so important to us.

I can hardly believe we’re here already. It seems like we were just thinking about the idea and figuring out how to make it happen. And here we are, wrapping up a whole set and planning again for the next set, which will feature Civil-War era knitting in America.

If you’re not on my mailing list, you’ll have to wait to order Stories In Stitches 4 next week. That’s when the Box Sets go on pre-order too. So mark your calendars!
