What’s the difference between your 3 Craftsy Sock Classes?

The new classes are for creating your own customized socks where you work out the size you need and select your own yarns, colors, and stitches.

There is a Toe Up version and a Cuff Down version, because not all sock knitters are bisoxual, and even if you are, you may already be familiar with one direction of knitting socks and not the other. There’s also different information in each course about design choices and knitting techniques.

There are patterns included in the class, but during the videos we don’t go through a specific pattern. We go through the overall process of making custom (hence original) socks from a universal pattern that allows you to choose a toe and heel that you like, as well as pattern stitches that you like, and figure out everything for a perfect fit. These are basically sock design classes, but I don’t want to scare anyone off with the D word.

These two courses are on sale for $29.

The Knit Sock Workshop, my first Craftsy course, is about following a pattern to make two different pairs of socks with easy heels and unusual toes (two of my favorites). The toes in this class are different than the other toe-up class, plus we have tips for lace and stranded colorwork (Fair Isle) in this class.

So they’re all different!

Thank you Donna for clarifying. I’m enrolled in the first sock workshop you have at Craftsy. Now I want the other two. I’ll enroll when I can.
