I’d like to share a success report: I just got back from a weekend traveling to San Diego to promote Stories In Stitches™ at the winter TNNA show.
Ava and I had two shawls in the fashion show on the Friday night, and they stole the show. We were giddy listening to the oohs and aahs as Ava’s new gold-metallic version of Rona and my original Event Horizon shawl were modeled for the crowd.
On Saturday, we hung out in the booth and got to meet shop owners, designers, and yarn company reps as well as catch up with lots of old friends. On Sunday, we had a book signing in our booth with a steady line for over 45 minutes. We ran out of tickets but still had a few extra books, so no-one had to leave without a copy.
People were talking about the shawls and the book in the aisles all through the show. Several shops invited us to come and teach, and we signed up shops for standing orders as well. It’s so exciting to think about all the people who will be inspired by our stories, and who, we hope, will be encouraged to share their stories too.
On Sunday night, Ava and I went out for martinis and planned out the next several volumes of Stories In Stitches as well as retreats we want to hold in 2015. Before Ava had to leave for the airport on Monday, we held an impromptu photo shoot by the bay, and got photos of the Rona and Patricia Shawls. The lighting was perfect, and it was fun to try to capture the lace in the shadows, too!
Not only was TNNA fun in the sun, it was a huge success for us all around. Thanks for all the support, and we wish all of you success as this year starts rolling along!
