Do you love Japanese knitting books?
If you’ve been drooling over my Japanese Knitting classes, there’s still room in
Japanese Knitting 2: Accessories and Crochet for Embellishment & Finishing
on June 10 at the Estes Park Wool Market. I was calling the class Explore Japanese Crochet, which is, sadly, confusing because it’s a class for knitters.
Class description: Japanese craft books are hot right now. Although the patterns are written entirely in Japanese, they are not impossible for American audiences to read. Very light on text and very heavy on charts and schematics, with a cheat sheet of translations, any adventurous knitter or crocheter can enter the world of Japanese needlework. In this class we will learn how to read Japanese accessory patterns, focusing on the charts and schematics. This class also includes information for knitters who want to make Japanese projects that incorporate crochet.
Students to bring: About 100 yards of worsted weight yarn and the size crochet hook recommended on the yarn label for swatching. Pencil and eraser, calculator (optional), and basic crochet tools. There is no materials fee.
Date and Time: Friday June 10th, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cost: $100 (includes lunch)
